Join New Hampshire’s Math Empowered Statewide Cohort.

  • Welcome Grades K - 6 Classroom Teachers, Special Educators, and Interventionists!

    Level 1 Overview:

Join the Math Empowered Statewide Cohort and explore how to bring an engaged, thinking classroom to life with your daily instruction. Strengthen your practice with strategies like Math Talks, Partner Randomizer Sorts, DARE-ing Application Problems, and engaging Problem Set Tasks and Games.

Discover how to shift from a traditional “I do, we do, you do” model to a more student-centered “You do, we do” approach that fosters immediate feedback, supports a growth mindset, and embeds the eight Standards for Mathematical Practice. Learn how to make grade-level standards more accessible through embedded differentiation and on-the-spot intervention to address unfinished learning.

As a member of the cohort, you’ll receive digital access to Math Empowered professional development videos and grade-level resource kits—including Math Talks, Partner Randomizer Sorts, DARE-ing Application Problems, and Topic Games. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in one in-person coaching cycle to support your implementation journey.

    Level 2 Overview:

Choose Level 2 if you're interested in earning three graduate course credits through Antioch University. You'll receive all the same professional development as Level 1 participants, with added opportunities to deepen your learning through a book talk, weekly reflections, and two in-person coaching cycles.

(An additional $400 fee for graduate credits is paid directly to Antioch University.)

Each Math Empowered Statewide Cohort includes a variety of engaging, practice-based professional learning opportunities:

    • Three In-Person School-Based Days: Teachers will observe live model lessons taught by a Math Empowered team member, followed by debrief sessions. Each day features two modeled lessons, and participants may attend half or full days depending on substitute coverage. To accommodate the ongoing challenge of securing substitutes, especially for K–6 educators, Math Empowered plans to offer this in-school professional development in different regions of the state per cycle. This provides scheduling options for K–6 teachers, special educators, and interventionists. (Up to 18 hours of PD)

    • Two Full-Day Conferences: Held at the McLane Audubon Center, one in the fall and one in the winter, these events provide opportunities to dive deeper into Math Empowered strategies, collaborate with peers, and gain new tools for immediate classroom use. (Up to 12 hours of PD)

    • Optional Coaching Cycle: Teachers can choose to meet virtually or invite a Math Empowered team member into their classroom for targeted feedback in a focus area of their choice. (Up to 2 hours of PD)

What Math Empowered Educators are saying…

  • “I’ve become much more aware of when my lesson is too teacher-centered, and I’m becoming more flexible to make it more student-centered. There is more discussion in Algebra 2, more engagement in the learning.”

  • “I am seeing what students can do rather than what they can’t do, and that is helping to push the kids further and deeper.”

  • “The collaboration and understanding from these students is nothing like I’ve ever seen! Amazing.”

  • “I’ve noticed students who initially refused to show much work are now asking to share tape diagrams with the class!”

  • “My students love math this year, and I credit the new strategies I’m trying.”

  • “I can already see more confidence in students. They are starting to find their voice in the class. I am also able to see how they are able to carry over information from fifth grade more than years prior.”
